Below is a list of projects and clients that Digiland has worked with as well as a description of the scope of the project and the solutions that Digiland had to implement to solve the challenges presented.

Owner-Maintained Web Sites
A resort developer local to New England required a web site that would need frequent updates. Digiland designed and developed an "owner-maintained" site where much of the content can be changed by using simple and secure editing techniques. With little or no training, the web-site owner was quickly managing the content of their own site. Please see our ViewPort pages for several examples of "owner-maintained" web sites.

Custom Web Quotation System -- Emerson-Swan, Inc.
We recently completed a year-long project to develop a quotation system for Emerson-Swan, a HVAC manufacturer's representative in Randolph, Mass. The quote system is a true thin-client system, with the only client-side requirement being a browser. Leveraging XML and client-side scripting, the system was designed to minimize "page refresh flash" and optimized for fast quotation entry.

The quote system is highly integrated with Emerson-Swan's JD Edwards manufacturing system and allows the creation, maintenance, and automated delivery (email and fax) of quotations to Emerson-Swan's clients. The JD Edward's interface is two-way, with customers, items, and order status brought down into the quote system nightly and posted quotations converted into sales orders via the JD Edwards EDI interface. Fax and Email and PDF generation is handled through the Optio DCS system.

Using the new quotation system, Emerson-Swan is able to quote more of their products to the marketplace and keep better track of quotations across their seven Northeast USA locations.

Vehicle Maintenance Software -- Applications for Town Governments
Digiland has an ongoing relationship providing software development and services to a number of towns in the area. Our most recent application is a vehicle maintenance system that allows towns to track vehicle usage, schedule maintenance, and issue work orders.

This custom system replaced a packaged system and better meets the needs of the maintenance department.

Other software applications developed for area towns include a Harbor Mooring program, a Building Permit program, and a Fire Department permitting program.

Interactive Voice Response Systems
If you live in Plymouth and want to burn your brush in the spring, you're likely to use the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system that we developed for the Plymouth Fire department. The system is simple, logging the applicant's telephone request to burn on a particular day, and granting the request if burning is allowed for the day and the call is within the specified call-in hours.

This IVR is a real success, providing Plymouth residents with approval services while reducing the workload of the firefighting staff.

Working with a local dentist, we developed an Interactive Voice Response system that allows patients to make a dentist appointment 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The system was designed to be usable without any training...the patient simply listens to the available time-slots and makes an appointment over the telephone by pressing the pound (#) sign on the telephone keypad.

The IVR system is easy to use, and has brought in numerous new patients for our dentist client.

IT Services -- Controls Plus USA
We work with Controls Plus USA, a local manufacturer of electrical and hydronic systems to provide information technology services including web site hosting, database reporting, manufacturing software conversion, and telephony services.

The website that we have designed for Controls Plus USA has increased sales by making their customers more aware of the complete product line that Controls Plus USA carries.
